Large Ash Tree Removal, Bilsborrow, Lancashire

We were called to remove this mature ash tree after the client became concerned about a significant split developing in the main stem. With the tree positioned close to neighbouring property and a shared access lane, careful sectional dismantling was the safest solution.

The removal was extremely challenging due to the amount of obstacles beneath (shrubs, fences & summer house). 

The Challenge

The large ash tree stood on the edge of a garden, with substantial limbs extending over flower beds, ornamental shrubs, shed and a shared access road serving neighbouring properties. A gas tank was also located nearby, leaving very little room for error.

Because of the tree’s size, condition and surrounding obstacles, the entire tree had to be dismantled in sections. Simply felling it wasn’t an option.

Using the rigging system to carefully lower every branch and section of stem. 

Very happy the tree is safely down with just the stem left to fell. 

Our Solution

Using climbing and rigging techniques, every branch and section of stem was carefully lowered to the ground in a controlled manner, protecting the garden, neighbouring property and shared access lane throughout the operation.

Once dismantled, the branches were processed through our tracked wood chipper, allowing us to work efficiently while minimising disruption. The larger timber was then logged up on site.

The Result

The hazardous ash tree was safely removed without damage to the surrounding garden or neighbouring property. Despite the restricted working area, the project was completed efficiently, with all arisings processed and the site left clean and tidy.
